Winter Skin getting you down? Looking Dull and skin feeling dry? "Spring" into action as we make our way into a new season.
The dry heat of the house, and varying temperatures, plays havoc on our skin. It is important to stress that everyone should be using a gentle cleanser daily, exfoliate regularly and moisturize each morning and night.
Some people prefer to use gentle electronic brushes to cleanse their skin, which is fine. But the "gentle" part is important to avoid damaging their skin. Pressing too hard or using a harsh product (such as an apricot scrub) creates more problems that it solves. Alternatively, products like jojoba beads are more desirable. They roll across the skin instead of digging in, which is what causes skin damage. Another cause of damage is sun exposure. You need protection year-round. But as we spend more time outside in the nicer weather, sun protection is even more important!
You can even make at home scrubs which are fun and very successful with yogurt, honey, and oatmeal--just to name a few. Again, it is always best to check with your licensed Esthetician or Dermatologist for specific advice on your skin type and problem areas.
A free consultation with a local Esthetician is also beneficial to educate and empower yourself with knowledge. Most of all, if you have never had a facial, you may consider the experience. Besides being a wonderful, relaxing service, you will learn more about skin care regimes and your unique plan to improve your skin.
