Red Horse is Foodie Passion

The name "David Burke" is synonymous with style, great food and creativity. The ecletic and creative chef is known for his numerous awards, tv appearances and a collection of sophisticated restaurants. These acclaimed dining experiences are punctuated by Red Horse by David Burke with locations in Rumson and Bernardsville, as well as in nearby Westchester.

You are greeted by the Red Horse as your enter the Bernardsville Inn.

Celebrity Chef Burke, an avid art collector, named the group after a painting he purchased during the pandemic, according to visitbernardsville.com. The first location was established in Rumson and the most recent opened in the historic Bernardsville Inn this Fall. The interior spaces were re-invented to bring Burke's flair and artful eye to the patrons. Those familiar with the former Bernardsville restaurant, will note the beautiful bar is still a dominant fixture. Decor, however, is second place to the outstanding and brilliant food presented.

Fun Food and Passionate Dishes

Start off with one of the themed cocktails like "Gallup in the Woods." Next, share Burke's now-famous "clothesline bacon" which makes an appearance on the menu. The unique presentation is fun and complements the layers of flavor in the bacon. And, let's face it, is bacon ever wrong?

A delightful array of seafood and steaks provide a wide-range of selections which will make everyone in your party happy. Finish the meal with one of the perfect desserts such as the Cakepop Tree with Cotton Candy (for 2). You may even find a surprise from Burke's Dixie Lee Bakery, located in Keansburg, like a sampling of delicate cookies.

The Red Horse also has a number of holiday and special events with fantastic choices. The Brunch is rumored to be devine, including some classics with a twist.

While many of the favorites can be found across all three Red Horse locations, check the menu online. Some do differ. Regardless which one you visit, you will surely enjoy the dining experience. Note: this is one restaurant where you want to take photos of your food!
