Jersey Farms Make Fall Fun

October usually boasts warm days and cool nights. As the leaves change colors, one of the best past-times is to visit one of the many farms in the Garden State. Adults, friends, families and school groups, all love this Jersey tradition.

Pumpkin picking is always fun.

Many of the farms attract people from around the state and NYC alike, as a part of an annual tradition. It's no wonder, with an abundance of apples and pumpkins with U-pick and hayrides all season. Let the kids run through a corn maze, grab a hot cider or a coffee with a warm cider donut. The bigger farms have other food treats too like roasted corn or food trucks.

Don't forget to stop in their markets and bring home some fabulous goodies like fresh produce, pies, jams or other foods from nearby partnering farms. Some of the state's best known farms include:

Alstede Farms in Chester

Argos Farm in Forked River

Dalton Farms in Swedesboro

Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck

Demarest Farms in Hillsdale

Terhune Orchards in Lawrenceville

Wightman Farms in Harding Township
