What makes Halloween fun for all? Going door-to-door, Trunk or Treat parades, candy and decorations, of course. Oftentimes, we see that one house going all-out for the occasion. These hardcore Halloween fanatics make it scary (and fun!) for the community with elaborate lighting, music and more. I remember the excitement of running up to of one of these homes as a kid knowing they would have the "good candy".
One noteworthy Halloween home is at 948 Route 202-206 (Northbound side) in Bridgewater and known as "13 Skeletons". It is a local Fall favorite with its creative displays to entertain neighbors and passers-by. According to the13skeletons.com website, in 2005 the owners, Jim and Joann Adams, went from standard seasonal decorations to its more notable attraction. Stacking pumpkins turned into balancing skeletons in an ever-changing scene. With that, 13 Skeletons was born.
Each year the owners tell a story throughout the month of October. According to a 2022 Patch article, themes have included: a circus, a mine, a theme park and 2022's "Three Sisters Seed Company". They even published a book! In recent years, 13 Skeltons has conducted a sock drive to benefit shelters and homeless Veterans.
This year's family fun display is up and drawing the usual attention. For those those who drive by regularly, it serves as a fun "treat" not to be missed.
Note: Because the location on 202-206 is a busy one, on lookers can't exit their vehicles or park on the opposite side of the road.
